Hi everybody. Welcome to my blog where I talk about my past.
I’m gonna dedicate this blog to ME, because it was my birthday last week and I’m still celebrating. Oh, by the way, if you’re drinking from a sippy cup, never try and drink champagne from a sippy cup. I did this and wore half of my champagne. Now I know what a formula one driver feels like after he wins a race.
When I’m down I often think about moments from my past. A lot of moments in my life were almost spiritual. Like, I’ll give you some examples:
Witnessing the birth of my daughter was amazing. I always say it, but it is a miracle. To see a human come out of another human is amazing.
One moment that always stands out in my mind is when I was horseback riding in the Shoshoni Pass. The Pass is right on the border of Wyoming and Montana. Anyway, I was riding along on my horse and I looked over to my left, I saw a huge grizzly bear on the horizon. He was standing up and looking at me. My horse kind of freaked out. I kind of freaked out too. That was a big bear. But it was amazing to see.
Another moment that stands out in my mind was when I was in New Guinea. When I was a boy, I witnessed the celebration of two tribes getting together. I met the chief of one tribe. He was cool. My Dad, he and I went back to the chief’sa armory. The chief gave me a bunch of spears and arrows, and he shook my hand. I’ll never forget, but his hand was part human, part rain forest. Unfortunately all of my arrows and spears were confiscated by customs at the airport. But I do have a shield from when I went back there in the 80s.
Another moment I’ll never forget was when I was in the temple in India. I kept hearing the sound of bells and I kept following the sound. It was a bunch of temple girls that were getting me to follow them. I kept following the sound, but when I got to where they were, there was no one there. My parents said they never saw anyone. It was kind of creepy and freaky.
I’ll share with you one more spiritual moment. It was cool, I was underneath a bald eagle nest. It was a huge nest. It was just above me. Just as I was looking up a feather came out and spiraled down and landed at my feet. Very cool.
The following story started out as spiritual, but didn’t end up so good. I was mountain bike riding and I was going pretty fast. I came upon a huge, gigantic bird. It was a turkey vulture. Now, I literally scared the shit out of the bird because it shit all over my right hand my right knee, my right sholder and my right foot. It was nasty. Have you ever been shat upon by a turkey vulture? The smell was unbelievable. I guess I could say I’m kind of honored because not a lot of people get to smell turkey vulture shit. Thank god it was close to home so I could take a shower.
That’s all for this week. I’ve got lots of other stories, but we’ll save them for later. Love and miss you guys. Love, B. Nice
