2399-15

Be the master of your own universe. You've heard that before, right? Well, it's true. When you're sick, like this, you've got to take charge, be your own doctor, in a way. Look after yourself. I'll give you an example.

The insurance companies, let's say, won't cover you for 2 - 100 mg tablets of "whatever." But, they will cover you for one tablet of 200 mg. It's insane, but you need a point person that understands insurance speak. You've gotta get it right or you'll miss out. Remember, I said before, they wouldn't give a man who clearly needs a wheelchair, a wheelchair. The insurance companies almost play doctor. It's crazy. I've had great insurance, but it's only because the people that looked after me know how to talk insurance talk. I can't stress enough how important this is when you're looking to be covered. I'll just give you one other example. My doctor prescribed a certain medicine and the insurance wouldn't cover it, so we said it was for epilepsy and it was covered. It's crazy, I know, but it worked. Like my friend here said, it's enough to make your head spin.

I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I have someone who is an independent living person. I've been going out and taking photos with an assistant. It feels great to get out and take pictures. Mind you, I can't see what I'm shooting, because I'm legally blind, but I'm having a great time.  That's what it's all about, right? Art for art's sake. Happiness for happiness sake.

You know, I forgot what I was going to talk to you about, so let's just leave it here. Check out my other blog where I talk about the past. Here's a link.

Have a good week. Love, B. Nice.
